One of the oldest skipjacks on the Chesapeake Bay. These boats were built in the late 1800's and early 1900's to dredge for oysters. That is there only use until recently when they have become tourist excursion vessels. I made this image about 12 years ago when there were only eleven such boats still on the water.
I am a professional photographer specializing in lighthouse, maritime, nature and urban photography. I've been published in many national books and magazines, and am the publisher and co-publisher of numerous lighthouse and wildlife posters. I have led a number of tours for the Smithsonian Institution and produced multimedia slide shows for them and others.
